About the team
The team is renowned for taking on complex and challenging cases and gained recent notoriety for pursing a number of high-profile allergy cases representing the families of Natasha Ednan-Laperouse, Owen Carey and Celia Marsh and Hannah Jacobs who died as a result of undeclared allergens. The team are also instrumental in change of policy working with charities and experts in order to bring about meaningful change to protect those with allergies. 

The team also represent several individuals who have suffered with food poisoning leading life changing injuries. The recent E.coli outbreak saw over 263 individuals becoming ill with 49% being admitted to hospital. Food poisoning can lead to complex and long-term debilitating injuries requiring in some cases, long term rehabilitation and treatment.

The team leads the way in pursuing medical device claims including, metal on metal hips, faulty pacemakers, knee replacements, diabetic buttons. They successfully represented over 600 Claimants with failed Metal on Metal hip components, causing catastrophic injuries requiring early revision surgery. This group litigation has been described as one of the “biggest disasters in orthopaedic history”.

The team are currently pursuing group claim against Walleys Quarry, a Landfill, on behalf of hundreds of Claimants who have been severely affected by pollution being emitted from the Landfill.

About the role
The team are seeking an innovative paralegal wishing to join the team to pursue ground-breaking cases and help facilitate further legislative change to safeguard the rights of consumers.

You will support the team conducting litigation through to trial and / or negotiations, including drafting documents, client liaison - interviewing and taking witness statements, case research, assisting with preliminary advice on causation /quantum, instructing medico-legal experts, sorting and reviewing updated medical and updating medical chronologies, and general administrative support.

The role will also involve helping to research and develop new areas of practice for the firm.
