About Leigh Day
We are a top 100 law firm committed to claimant-only cases, ensuring that individuals have the same access to justice as the UK Government and large corporations. We are not afraid to take on difficult and challenging cases involving medical negligence, serious personal injuries, discrimination in the workplace, defective products, and human rights abuses in this country and overseas.
About the team
Our Human Rights team act for individuals, groups and organisations which brings claims and challenges against public authorities (such as government bodies, local authorities and agencies), in a range of areas such as civil liberties, human rights breaches, abuse, community care, and regularly acts in Inquest & Court of Protection cases.
About the role
We have an exciting opportunity for a Paralegal to assist the Partner and Solicitors working on claims for abuse and / or mistreatment, both cases of non-recent childhood sexual and physical abuse and cases of current abuse or neglect in health, education and social care settings and workplace sexual violence.
The work involved will be varied and, at times, highly challenging. It requires strong written and oral communication skills, the ability to schedule work efficiently and work towards multiple deadlines and an awareness of or ability to learn how to work in a ‘trauma informed’ way for clients who are dealing with trauma and its consequences.
It will ideally suit a Paralegal who has previous civil litigation experience, an interest in this area of law, is highly emotionally resilient and can empathise with this particular client group and has excellent organisational and document management skills
