We have vast experience in advising legal practitioners on issues relating to dismissals, discrimination, equal pay and contractual matters, such as confidentiality and post-termination restrictions. We have acted against well-known City law firms for claims including pregnancy discrimination, sexual harassment, and race and age discrimination.

We are highly experienced in conducting difficult, complex and challenging negotiations on behalf of clients working in the legal industry and always ensure that we achieve the best outcome possible for clients. We have extensive experience in bringing Employment Tribunal claims.

Some examples of the work we have recently undertaken includes:

  • Acting on behalf of a salaried Judge in respect of a high-value and complex reasonable adjustments claim regarding how Judges are required to manage hearings and produce written judgment. The case covered a significant period of time and various adjustments, and was successful at trial, reported widely in the legal press.

  • Acting for a senior counsel compliance and data specialist in an ongoing internal dispute regarding the management of her and those in her team, and the existence of a toxic culture within the legal department of a large financial institution.

  • Acting on behalf of a senior associate employed by a global, leading law firm, in a claim for reasonable adjustments and disability discrimination. We were able to negotiate a significant seven figure settlement without the need to litigate.

  • Acting on behalf of a senior associate solicitor in her exit negotiations from a national, well-known law firm, which resulted in the terms the client required to achieve, pre-litigation.

  • Acting on behalf of a senior solicitor and former CEO of a litigation organisation in unfair dismissal, whistleblowing and victimisation claims, currently being pursued in the employment tribunal.

  • Acting on behalf of an exiting-Partner of a global firm who had to extricate himself from onerous restrictive covenants.

  • Advising on an exit agreement for a fixed share partner, following a discriminatory unfair dismissal.

  • Advising on terms and condition in equity partnership agreements.

  • Advising senior associates in large international law firms.

  • Advising solicitors regarding sexual harassment, bullying and constructive dismissal.

  • Agreeing an exit from equity partnership on behalf of a client, after the client experienced race discrimination and victimisation.

  • Providing lawyers with advice relating to grievances.

  • Representing solicitors with claims of discrimination, including disability discrimination and claims surrounding mental health.

  • Taking part in exit negotiations via alternative dispute resolution on behalf of clients.
