Ella is an associate solicitor in the medical negligence team

Ella is an associate solicitor in the medical negligence department.

Ella (she/her) works on a wide variety of clinical negligence cases including claims arising from amputation, failures or delays in diagnosis of cancer, and claims on behalf of mothers and children who have sustained an injury during childbirth. She also has experience working on fatal accident claims. Having previously worked in the legal team at one of London’s largest NHS hospitals, Ella has unique insight into the NHS structure, practices and procedures.

After gaining her Law degree from King’s College London, during her time working in-house for a London NHS Trust, Ella gained experience in medical negligence, personal injury, inquests and court of protection. Ella then proceeded to study the LPC at the University of Law, graduating in 2020 prior to joining Leigh Day.

Ella qualified as a solicitor in September 2022 after completing her training contract at Leigh Day. During her first seat, Ella trained with Sanja Strkljevic and Despina Kavadas in the medical negligence department acting on behalf of patients and their families. Ella also assisted on cases representing families at inquests following the death of a family member in a hospital setting.

In the second year of her training, Ella worked in the international department where she assisted Oliver Holland on international cases involving multinational corporations where human rights abuses have been alleged. She also assisted Zoë Mernick-Levene in the competition practice working on complex collective actions, including a standalone opt-out case against large water and sewage companies.

Education

Ella has a LLB in Law from King’s College London and achieved a distinction her LPC from the University of Law.
