Claire Burton

Claire is an senior associate solicitor in the employment and discrimination department and is currently assisting with large group claims for equal pay on behalf of employees at Asda and Sainsbury’s.

Claire has extensive experience in employment and housing law. As the Managing Senior Solicitor she led the casework team at Cumbria Law Centre before joining Leigh Day in February 2019. Claire has specialised in individual claimant work, with a particular focus on social justice.

Claire has experience of all stages of employment litigation and has acted for claimants in unfair and wrongful dismissal claims, whistleblowing, discrimination and harassment claims, wage disputes, redundancy matters, TUPE issues, and settlement agreements. Claire qualified as a solicitor in 2010, after many years working in asylum and immigration casework.
