Lauren Tully

Lauren is a Partner in the clinical negligence department at Leigh Day.

Lauren joined Leigh Day’s Manchester office in July 2018 from Slater and Gordon. She studied law at the University of Manchester. She trained at Pannone and qualified in 2011. After a brief spell with Russell Jones & Walker, she re-joined Pannone in 2012. Pannone became part of Slater and Gordon in 2014.

Legal expertise

Lauren advises on a wide range of cases. She has a particular interest in failings in maternity care, brain injury claims, amputation claims, birth injury claims, claims involving surgical errors and fatal claims. Lauren also assists families with inquest preparation and representation.

• Acting for a woman who sustained a serious perineal injury due to mismanagement of her labour.
• Obtaining damages for a mother who suffered traumatic injuries to her bladder during a caesarean section that were not properly repaired leaving her incontinent.
• Representing a woman who developed sepsis and PTSD following induction of labour and caesarean section.
• Securing compensation for a mother who experienced a still birth because of a failure to offer induction of labour.
• Acting for a child who has cerebral palsy due to hypoxia in the neonatal period.
• Obtaining damages for a client who has a brain injury because of a negligent delay in diagnosing autoimmune encephalitis.
• Settling a claim arising out of a negligent delay in diagnosis and treatment of compartment syndrome.
• Acting for a man who suffered paralysis because of a delay in diagnosing spinal abscess.
• Representing the family of a woman who died following routine surgery to remove a gall stone.
• Settling a claim arising from injuries suffered because of a delay in diagnosing and treating bowel ischaemia.
• Acting for a child in relation to a delay in diagnosis of sepsis resulting in lower limb amputation.
• Securing a provisional damages award for a client who is at risk of paralysis following spinal surgery.
• Opposing a claim for contributory negligence and settling a claim for a client who developed an impulse control disorder and psychiatric injuries after the negligent prescription of Ropinirole.
