Laura Murphy is a partner in the personal injury department.
Laura qualified as a solicitor in November 2008, having completed her training contract at a firm in West London. She joined Irwin Mitchell on qualification and worked there as a solicitor until joining Leigh Day in September 2017. She became a partner in 2022.

Legal expertise
Laura specialises in high value serious injury claims, including brain and spinal injury, amputee claims and fatal accidents. She has represented many clients who have sustained life-changing injuries. She works proactively to ensure her clients get rehabilitation at the earliest possible opportunity and interim payments to prevent financial hardship and to cover costs of equipment care and therapies.
As well as running her own caseload she also assists Sally Moore, partner, on a range of complex life changing injury claims.

Laura is an accredited Senior Litigator with the Association of Personal Injury Lawyers and is also an APIL accredited Brain Injury Specialist solicitor. She is chair of the brain injury charity, Headway West London.

The family of scaffolder Jon Currie, who died on a building site in Kensington, have welcomed the sentencing today of Kevin Leathers, the Director of G & L Scaffolding and Roofing Ltd, for a breach of the Health & Safety at Work Act 1974 at Southwark Crown Court. Leathers was sentenced to eight months imprisonment.

The family of Donald Collett, who died in the Croydon tram crash, have expressed dismay at yesterday's CPS decision that no criminal charges will be bought against the driver or Transport for London (TfL) or the operator, Tram Operations Ltd.
